Sisterhood

   The Sisterhood of Congregation Ahavas Chesed has always played a vital role in the life of our Synagogue.  It is through our organization that the ceremonies and tradition of Shabbat and the Festivals are taught and passed on from generation to generation.  When a job in the Synagogue has to be done, it is the Sisterhood who lends its support, financial and emotional, so that whatever the task, it is done.  Among our objectives are:

• 1.    Promoting the welfare of the Congregation and acting as its official hostess. 
• 2.    Assisting in adult education and festival workshops. 
• 3.    Sponsoring and promoting a general program of education and cultural         activites in the Congregation. 
• 4.    Participating in civic and community activities.
